Project code name: Opmitter

A project to tag and retrieve abstract video assets by personality assigned by the creator - the same way that we assign it to imagery such as a sea being 'calm' or a sky being 'angry'. This might provide a way to score abstract video over an emotional contour. It also suggests some ideas for locating abstract imagery from repositories.

Project code name: H H

Music hasn't been 'liquid architecture' for some time. Since the first computer games it's been a space in which the listener may negotiate at will. In current terms, music is built environment - the personal space rather than the walls. 'HH' is an exhibition of a music album spread over a public space - it is due in 2013.

Project code name: RHINE

RHINE is a fork from the sound modelling project at CymaticSouth, which investigates sound quality over formation of physical masses.

The main series is
BOWL - basic calibration of the formation aparatus COMPLETED.
GAMELAN - approximation of platonic solids IN PROGRESS
JAUNT - transfer of platonic solids preserving information.

A performance and workshop organised each year by the Joan Sutherland Performing Arts Centre. In 2011 I presented to secondary students, and wrote a teaching guide called The Shape of a Note. The performance inspired a set of videos which are provided here,

The old band played live shows across Australia and over in Belgium in 2011. It's always nice to make old friends happy, but we're well over it now and ready to move on. Documents of these shows can be found here.

Trans Oceanic : Exhibit open

A homage to shortwave radio broadcast recreated in Flash. Tune in one of 6 receivers to hear a soundscape generated in real time from hand made samples and music.

Album of Albums : Exhibit open

An album of music reproduced as Sheet Music, virtual Edison Cylinder, 8 Track Cartridge, Vinyl LP, miniDisc, CD, DVD and Thumb Drive. An experiment to see what influence the media of reproduction has on music composition. The conclusion was that a composer when aware of the potential can collaborate with that engineering solution to provide a best case album. This has importance in the styles of music that have accompanied each format.

Lives of the Saints : Exhibit open

Portraits of charismatic prophets and mystical saviours presented as 'video signage'. The same technology used in airports and real estate applied to poems about Jim Jones, Werner Erhard et al.
